On the fourth edition of the Cameroon Beach Cleanup campaign, on the 24th January 2026,
our organisation, Community Corner for Development Initiatives (CCDI) had the opportunity of giving back to the community by participating alongside with other organisations like the
SPACCE, Environmental Science Students Association (ESSA), Association for Community
Awareness (ASCOA), Junior Cambers International-UB Chapter and a host of other organisations in engaging with environmental protection and sustainability mission through
the cleanup of the Ndongo River that flows from the Molyko residential area to the University
of Buea. This activity was an initiative that brought these organisations to take concrete
actions against plastic pollution around our marine debris.
Alongside with other over 100 young people who put hands together towards improving on
the surrounding of the Ndongo River, its importance cannot be overemphasized given the
strategic passage of this waterway along the campus of the University of Buea and a greater
student residential areas and other habitable places in Molyko in order to enable a conducive
atmosphere good for the learning environment of the student population and other
residents. After all it is said cleanliness is the heart of God.
